About CNS

We are a smaller agency-by choice, where you will receive personal service. Providers are a name with us, never a number! We are located in Beatrice, Nebraska. This allows us to spend more money on materials and resources for our providers. A quality record keeping calendar is given to each provider. We publish a monthly newsletter with tips & training.

Trained staff review your monthly claim. We offer simple, easy to use paper forms and on-line claiming. You choose whatever is most convenient for you! You mail, fax, or email your monthly claims to the office, again choosing the method which works best for YOU. We offer direct deposit.

We hold free annual workshops in Lincoln & surrounding areas for continuing education hours which are state approved.

We send out an itemized year end statement that is exactly what the CPA/tax preparer wants for tax information. It not only tells you the dollar total for the year, but gives you exact meal counts. This can save you hours when doing your taxes!

Meet the Staff

Brooke Ankersen

Director

Brooke Ankersen has been a program assistant at CNS since 2008 and is now the director at CNS. She was a Nebraska Child Care Professional for 10 years. This allowed her to be home with her own children when they were young. Brooke, her husband, and their children live in Beatrice. She is involved with their Junior High and High School sports and activities. Brooke is a proud grandma of three, Wyatt, who is 4 and Sophia and her twin sister Madilyn are 2. Wyatt, Sophia, Madilyn and their parents live just blocks away providing the opportunity for lots of Grandma time.

Brooke loves working with children and seeing the meals and activities child care providers in the Child Nutrition Services program have implemented. She works in the Beatrice office and visits home daycares.  She looks forward to visiting current providers as well as meeting new childcare professionals joining the program!

Renee DeWald

Program Assistant

In 1986 Renee DeWald’s childcare career began at home raising three of her own children. She also operated a Homes 1 in Daykin, NE for nearly twenty years. Being enrolled with Child Nutrition Services helped her practice healthy meal planning at home and understand the importance of holding “family-style” meals with her own children and with the ones that she cared for daily.

After her youngest child graduated from high school in 2005, Renee closed her daycare and went to work for CNS. She enjoys conducting home visits and interacting with daycare providers and their kids. Since 2008 she has lived in Kansas City with her husband, and continues to process claims there.

Renee is a proud grandmother of three grandchildren, Sloan, Crew and Scarlett, who live only twenty minutes away. She and her husband are active in their church, Kings of Kings Lutheran, serving on the grounds committee and regularly attending Christ Care Bible study group. Some of her favorite activities include gardening, sewing, and interior decorating. She and her husband also enjoy bicycling, visiting the lake, and traveling just a mere 30 minutes to watch the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals. Renee loves being active in her neighborhood and making new friends.

She acknowledges that the world of daycare is not always easy and appreciates all those that show love and dedication to children!

Carrie Buchmeier

Program Assistant

Carrie is a new member to the CNS staff.  She worked in the childcare field for 12 years, with 7 years as a home child care provider at her home near Johnson, NE.  Carrie and her husband Andy have 3 children; Taylor – 15, Lane – 13 and Brooklyn – 11, who attend Johnson-Brock Public Schools.  She loves staying busy wither kids’ sports and activities, camping and boating and spending time with family and friends.

Carrie is hoping her experience in the child care field will bring a positive role into her CNS position.  She is looking forward to getting to know the daycare providers and seeing them implement the CNS program at home visits.

April Seibert

Program Assistant

April joins us after 10 years as a licensed child care provider.  First operating as a Home II and then ending childcare as a Home I.  She lives with her husband and 3 children.  This alone makes for a busy lifestyle, but when she does have spare time, she enjoys home projects, spending time with family, friends and shopping.

April is looking forward to experiencing Child Nutrition from a different view point and is hoping her experience as a provider will help her relate and meet the needs of each provider she visits.
