Our Staff

Brooke

Brooke Ankersen

Program Director

Brooke started at CNS in 2008 as a Program Assistant and was promoted to Program Director in October 2018. She was a Nebraska Child Care Professional for 10 years. This allowed her to be home with her own children when they were young. Brooke, her husband, and their daughter live in Beatrice. Their son Brock lives in McCook, NE and works for a farmer in a small town close by. Brooke and her husband Kevin enjoy watching their daughter, Shelbi, play High School soccer, bicycling, camping and spending time with family. Brooke is a proud grandma of three, Wyatt, Sophia and her twin sister Madilyn. Wyatt, Sophia, Madilyn and their parents live just 10 minutes away providing the opportunity for lots of Grandma time.

Brooke looks forward to seeing the creative meals child care providers are presenting and enjoys visiting with providers and the children. She looks forward to meeting new childcare providers as well who join the CNS team.

Renee

Renae DeWald

Program Assistant

In 1986 Renae’s childcare career began at home raising three of her own children. She also operated a Homes 1 in Daykin, NE for nearly twenty years. Being enrolled with Child Nutrition Services helped her practice healthy meal planning at home and understand the importance of holding “family-style” meals with her own children and with the ones that she cared for daily.

After her youngest child graduated from high school in 2005, Renae closed her daycare and went to work for CNS. She enjoyed conducting home visits and interacting with daycare providers and their kids. Since 2008 she has lived in Kansas City with her husband, and continues to process claims there.

Renae is a proud grandmother of three grandchildren, Sloan, Crew and Scarlett, who live only twenty minutes away. She and her husband are active in their church, Kings of Kings Lutheran, serving on the grounds committee and regularly attending Christ Care Bible study group. Some of her favorite activities include gardening, sewing, and interior decorating. She and her husband also enjoy bicycling, visiting the lake, and traveling just a mere 30 minutes to watch the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals. Renae loves being active in her neighborhood and making new friends.

She acknowledges that the world of daycare is not always easy and appreciates all those that show love and dedication to children!

April Seibert

Program Assistant

April joins us after 10 years as a licensed child care provider.  First operating as a Home II and then ending childcare as a Home I.  She lives with her husband and 3 children.  This alone makes for a busy lifestyle, but when she does have spare time, she enjoys home projects, spending time with family, friends and shopping.

April is looking forward to experiencing Child Nutrition from a different view point and is hoping her experience as a provider will help her relate and meet the needs of each provider she visits.
